Couperose: What really helps against red veins - and what is taboo!

What really helps against couperose?
Do you regularly or even permanently have unusually red veins on your cheeks or nostrils? Then you could be affected by couperose. This is a vasodilatation. Find out what you can do about it in this article.

Couperose – mostly not wanted
Some women now and then wish for pale pink apple cheeks on their faces, because they stand for youthfulness, freshness and health. In this case, we are happy to help with a little blush. But what if we no longer have the skin color in our own hands and it not only spreads over the cheekbones but also over the nose? In that case, the diagnosis is usually couperose – and that is anything but desirable.

What exactly is couperose?
If we have visibly dilated, red or blue blood vessels in the face, doctors speak of couperose. It is triggered by a genetic weakness in the connective tissue. As is so often the case with connective tissue weaknesses, women are mainly affected here, and that from around the age of 30. Especially lighter, sensitive skin types run the risk of showing the annoying reddening of the skin.

The small, red veins on the face are also called telangiectasias and are temporary in couperose at the beginning and then constantly widened later. The blood builds up in them and they become clearly visible as a network of vessels under the skin.

What is the difference to rosacea?
Couperose is an early form of rosacea or rosacea – a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs together with hypersensitive skin. Because of this, those affected often perceive both stinging and burning sensations as painful symptoms.

So-called flushing – spontaneous reddening of the skin on the cheeks, chin, nose and forehead – is typical of rosacea. If this skin disease is particularly severe, it can lead to thickening of the skin (rhinophyma), especially at the tip of the nose – the result is a bulbous nose, which however mostly affects older men.

These things are taboo with couperose
If there is a predisposition to couperose, it can be exacerbated by a number of factors. However, if you avoid the following points, you can manage to keep the redness under control:

? No excessive sunbathing! In addition, you should always protect the affected areas of the face with a high sun protection factor, especially in summer. SPF 50 is an absolute must, a sun blocker is better.
? You should also avoid heavy smoking, a lot of alcohol and coffee as well as spicy food in the future.
? Also avoid strong temperature fluctuations such as in the sauna.
? Peelings are taboo for the time being, because they stimulate blood circulation and thus intensify couperose.
? Make sure that your beauty products do not contain alcohol, mineral oils or silicone oils, as these promote blood circulation.
You don’t have to worry – unlike rosacea, couperose is not a disease. However, it bothers many of those affected for aesthetic reasons.

What helps acutely against couperose?
If your face is glowing again, you can use the following home remedies to soothe your skin:

Apply moist compresses to the affected areas every day
Apply cooling gels with eucalyptus and mint
Compresses with black tea, arnica and horse chestnut strengthen the connective tissue
Thermal water spray
Store face spray and cream in the refrigerator to maintain the cooling effect
Rinse face with cool cool after cleansing
To effectively hide the fine veins, you can use a greenish concealer. Greenish because it is the complementary color to red and thus neutralizes the couperose. Then apply your make-up as usual and then powder it off.
